Windows 7 SP1 x64 showing nonexistent shares on NAS

The title pretty much describes my issue, I've got a Synology DS413 w/ DSM 4.2-3211 and I'm connecting to it from a Windows 7 Pro SP1 x64 computer. I discovered this when I was doing a backup of my data in preparation for the two Seagate NAS 4Tb drives I just ordered. I deleted a shared folder from the DS413 and found it was still on the list of network locations on the Win7 machine.

I've rebooted the DS413, my router, my computer, ipconfig /release, ipconfig /renew, deleted everything and removed/recreated all my volumes on the NAS with no success. I've even deleted all the mapped drives and folders, nada. Just so that I'm clear, this is the list of network locations, items such as other computers, media devices, infrastructure, printers and other devices. At this point I don't have a clue as to what to do and I'm open to ideas as I plan on reusing some of these shared folder names.

This would be the \\Your-PC\ location, there should be nothing there right now and there kinda is. I can some of the files, they have a grayed out 'X' but I can't access the file itself in any way. There are a number of empty folders that can be accessed but can't be modified as well.

Several hours of digging around and I found out something like this is called a phantom share, it's a windows problem. I ended up finally going into the registry and editing it, but you can also use MS Fixit to fix this issue. Doing this forced the offline files cache and database to re-initialize, wiping out my problem and making it possible for me to read, write and delete at those network locations once again. I can only assume that at one time I had enabled offline files, though I don't remember ever doing it.
