How to delete a Home group
About a year and a half ago I had a computer and created a homegroup. That computer no longer exists. Now If I try to create a homegroup, it tells me that computer has already created one and asks if I would like to join. It gives me no place to see my password or leave the homegroup. I can't create another group without my password. I have 3 other computers and they say my computer has created a homegroup. (which I haven't) But they can't join it because I can't find a password. I have tried a repair install with no help.
I have gone to C:\windows\serviceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Roaming\PeerNetworking and deleted
idstore.sst and gone to Task Manager - services -homegroup provider and stopped the service. Then homegroup wouldn't do anything saying the Homegroup was not ready until I started the service again and I was right back where I started.
Is there a simple way just to delete it and start over? I have no options in conyrol panel, networking to do anything.
EDIT: Nevermind, I figured out another way around it. But there still shouldn't be a Homegroup for a computer that no longet exists. Marked as solved.
