Slow Download from steam

Hi guys,

I have just purchased GTA 4 on steam and started downloading, expecting it to take a few hours to download, as i normally download at 1.1-1.5 mb/s however i am downloading at 100kb/s and then randomly dropping down to 1kb/s and a couple of times 70 BYTES!

I run my network through network home-plugs and have never has a problem before (using them for past 3/4 years)

I ran speedtest.net to test if there was a problem with my download speed, but that reported back 9mb/s which is about normal.

Is there anything else i can try to trouble shoot why its soo slow?

Thank you for any help, and if any more info is needed ill do my best to provide

Thank you
Toby

Update: Not really sure what happened but i tested another game which i could download and that started downloading straight at 1.1mb/s.

It was only trials 2 which finished really quickly, and when GTA resumed it's now downloading at the normal speed.

So my problem is solved, is there any logical reason as to why that happened?
