Are you running connected directly to the internet or through a router? Probably a router/modem you got from Verizon, and which one?
I would be a little wary of advice being given about optimized settings when the checking app probably isn't familiar with Windows 7's configuration. I looked through the registry for a few of the suggested registry changes but did not see them already present.
Are you having speed problems?
