Cannot create Homegroup, Only Join...

Hi there, I'm there are some threads on this but I couldn't find any answers.

My Problem is, I re-installed windows 7 on my computer containing the Homegroup. Now I can only join the homegroup that should no longer exist.

Is there a way to reset the homegroup on an Operating System that is no longer accessible?

Any help would be much appreciated!

-Jon

Does this mean you can't leave the Homegroup on the other networked machines? I'll assume that is the case.

This is another Windows 7 bug apparently so you need to remove some files from the Peer Networking folder in order to fix this problem. This needs to be done on all machines that were in this Homegroup.

The fix for this problem seems to be Deleting all files which reside in PeerNetworking at> C:\windows\serviceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Roaming\PeerNetworking

In order to see the AppData folder you will need to go into Folder Options in the Control Panel and put a check mark to "Show Hidden Files and Folders".

It's required that you do this on all Homegroup networked machines. Then reboot all machines. You should now be able to leave the old Homegroup and create a new one.
