Windows 7 tower vs. Windows 8 lappy

Is it possible to connect a Windows 7 desktop (THIS MACHINE) to my Windows 8 laptop in a Homegroup? Or, what do I have to do?

You should have no problem. Windows 7 and 8 both use homegroups. It should just be a matter of going to the network and sharing center, choosing home on both pcs and choosing what to share. Homegroups make things pretty easy. They just need to be connected to a router or a hub. As long as this is done you should have no issues getting them connected.

This should answer any question you have about homegroups. This webpage is from Microsoft.
