Custom DNS causes no DNS + DNS issues when auto

I've been having DNS issues in general lately. I'll randomly Lose DNS connectivity (confirmed DNS, existing connections still work) and some of the time I'll get a 'DNS Client Events' event for that issue. Then, When I add custom DNS servers ( My ISP is notorious for DNS issues) I get another 'DNS Client Events' saying:
"The client was unable to validate the following as active DNS server(s) that can service this client. The server(s) may be temporarily unavailable, or may be incorrectly configured. 71.252.0.71"

a workaround for notorious ISP's is to use open DNS its free and you use their dns servers.
