    How to kill and established connection


    At the command prompt I typed netstat -ano and I see some established connections. I have the following questions:


    1. Some process IDs are listed from Netstat that do not appear at all under the Task Manager. Examples are 7952, 7640, 6520. What are these process IDs. How can they not appear in Task Manager?

    2. How do I kill these established connections?

    It will all depend on your system and software installed. I wouldn't just arbitrarily end processes. They may be host services. If you want a big surprise, down load and run TCPView. It will show the connections better and identify the process. It displays in real time so you'll see connections roll in and out. You can also see which processes are listening for a connection.
