Wired LAN dropouts

Thanks for the reply 2XG. Yes, tried the reboot. The situation has now deteriorated. Now no access from any computers but internet connectivity is still in tact.

No changes have occurred to the server. I am the only one able to access the server in an administrative capacity and I have NOT made any changes recently. I can login via putty though which makes me think the issue is on the server and permissions etc. I have also considered failing harddrive as being a contributing factor and/or a corrupt permissions file.

I forgot to mention that originally, when trying to access the MYOB file and being denied access, the user was getting a message there was not enought disk space (less than 1 kb) yet when I did checked on the server there was about 131GB space left.

Update. Not Solved.

New server hardware has been installed. Software installed and data files restored. Problem still exists. Looks more and more like a networking issue.

Am investigating problem could be caused by Norman anitvirus program's firewall. Turning off the firewall seems to improve connectivity. With firewall turned on I get a lot of activity recorded in the output from eLogger. I have written to the Norman await a reply.

Not Solved.

Norman has acknowledged its firewall has problems with connectivity with the LAN is working to resolve the problem.
