Wired LAN dropouts
Hi,
I have 6 computers wired to a server via two TPLINK ethernet switches.
The server is a linux box with Ubuntu 12.04 i386 and acts as a gateway to the internet. The server has its own firewall operating between the internet router and the linux box.
All other computers have Windows 7, Windows 7 firewall and Norman anti Virus operating.
Three of the computers have a requirement to access a MYOB file on the server. All was well until yesterday, when two out of the three stations had connections problems. All computers have no problems accessing the internet which is accessed via the server.
The Problem: Two of the computers consistently keep loosing connection to the file server which means we can't access the MYOB file except via one computer.
Is this a Windows 7 or a linux problem. Any suggestions?
Thanks
Max
I forgot to mention that originally, when trying to access the MYOB file and being denied access, the user was getting a message there was not enought disk space (less than 1 kb) yet when I did checked on the server there was about 131GB space left.
Update. Not Solved.
New server hardware has been installed. Software installed and data files restored. Problem still exists. Looks more and more like a networking issue.
