Unidentify Networks on my Windows 7 Ultimate

Hi.. everyone.... I hope I can get a suitable answer to this problem... which i think might be simple... let's see...

Ok.. I previously had Windows Vista Ultimate and I upgraded it to Windows 7 Ultimate... everything works fine .... even creating the computer to computer networks.... the only thing is ... that it does not identify it....and so I CANNOT connect to the internet throught it..... (I have a desktop and a labtop, the desktop has wireless router... and it also has wired internet... so I make the computer to computer network with the desktop and try to connect both computers but both computers can identify the network..)

so please I need to get this problem solve.... any tips?

So your dekstop has a built-in wireless router, and you are connected to the internet wirelessly from this desktop (sample of such is the iphone). When you cable link your laptop to this desktop, internet is fine. Your other machines is able to cable connect this network which is going through your desktop wireless internet connection.

Now are you saying these other machines are not able to wirelessly connect to to the desktop directly to gain internet access?

Well... it's not a "built-in wireless router" ... it's just the ones you attach to any desktop computer .... and the internet connection is WIRED.... using a regular moden... (not wireless)..... the reason I put a wireless router to the desktop , is just to connect the desktop (wirelessly) to a wireless home Network.. so any computer can connect to this wireless network and gain access to the internet throught it.

Your last post makes sense but i'm afraid the pic u posted doesnt (to me anyway). I have the same setup as you and i think most people also. The fundamental thing here is that all your machines are able to 'join' your wireless network. Does this happen?

If all you rmachines are able to wireless connect to your wireless network then either all is able to access the interweb or none. The connection to your ISP from your wireless router (hence allows you to get on the net) is independant to your machines connection to your wireless network.

They actually join to the wireless network...... but the network says "Unidentify Network"... so I only can see my desktop computer from my laptop and even go through and see files and stuff... but I can't make my laptop connect to the internet...

Ps. If you have Live Messenger, if you are not able to log on, it'll tell you through the troubshooting means where the internet connection failed. It also can try and repair the error. Try it.

Is this Unidentified Network from your Network and Sharing Center?

Are all your machines including your laptop NOT able to surf the net? or just your laptop?

Here is mine. Note: Local area Connection 2 is a VMware adapter connection
