I am very sorry i misread your first Post .. When did you first notice that your WIFI card is missing from the Device Manager ?
No problem.
Here's the back story:
My WiFi was going in and out (as in would work, bad signal, then go missing). I would install various drivers and it would magically go back on for anywhere from a few hours to a few days. Sometimes I would just restart the computer a few times and it would work.
Finally I looked for the bigger issue and found some corrupt files in my CBS.log file, I repaired windows using an ISO and the error disappeared but to no avail, still no WiFi.
And now I'm here.
Have you done a system scan using sfc/ scannow lately .. If that is all clear the only way i can see you getting it back is a Clean Install .. If you have the Product Key COA that will be possible even if you dont have the Windows Disc ..
Why do I have to do a clean install?
No signals at all refering to wifi in screenshot. Not even a section "other devices". Windows simply can't find it. Did you turn off wifi accidently in BIOS or some hardware switch on laptop?
As test: Download/burn an ubuntu or any other linux live cd and check if wifi works then.
It's simple in Ubuntu 12 using a LiveCD/USB.
Enjoy your WiFi
- Go to System settings → Software sources → Additional drivers
- Select any available option other than "Do not use the device"
- Hit "Apply changes"
