"Could not reconnect all network drives" pop up on boot Windows 7U x64

    Hello,

I am not in a domain environment. I have a server box running Datacenter 2008 R2. I have 3 shares that I am mapping to my machine that do not require credentials when mapping. On boot I always receive "Could not reconnect all network drives" notification/bubble.

    Things I have attempted:
    1. Enable in gpedit > Always wait for the network at computer startup and logon AND Run logon scripts synchronously
    2. Attempted to create a logon script to remove and remap the drives (in vbs, failed)
    3. Set a static IP address on wireless interface
    4. Create DWORD "RestoreDiskChecked" in HKEY _CURRENT_USER > Network
    5. Input server credentials in Windows Credential Manager of "servername\user" and password
    6. Verified on server side that Everyone, Admins, and Users have full control of all shares
    7. Disabled on server all Password protected sharing in advanced sharing settings

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Open to workarounds, just want the pop up gone.

    Hi and Welcome to SevenForums.

Good Luck with this. If you ever fin d a solution, please post it here. This has been a problem with Windows 7 since it was released.

The only workaround I could find was to use a utility called "mapdrive".
A local policy log on script is run at log on to map each of the drives. Problem is, I have 13 shares and it's not that quick. You can use the computer while it's mapping drives, and it doesn't impact on the computers performance.

I ended up removing it and putting up with the pop up as the drives were available sooner. Even though some brain dead applications (notably Adobe products), will fail when the map drive is "disconnected".
