Also, just to possibly keep this thing visible to anyone out there Googling ways to fix - I'd like to report that the Belkin support staff has yet to respond to my email from Wednesday night - they said "no longer than 24 hours to reply".

So, if you're a Belkin owner - look to these forums instead of Belkin themselves. Pretty shoddy customer service.

I first struggled with A sabrent card and their rotten support (no response) !

I wish I go to this forum days back. I spent so much money and bough thre belkin N1 wireless card only to realize they gave me a XP CD and the site talks of Vista 32/64 bit software that DOES NOT WORK.

I have windows 7 64bit and when i try to run that software in compabilility mode, it keep felling me it could not determine the version of the software.

Belkin's support - a bunch of kids who quickly search the knowledgebase eveytime you give a new word . Emailed their team, no response, been 24 hrs now.

I am sick of spending money and this has impacted all my part-time work so much!

    any help is appreciated.

    Thanks,

    mg

Finally fixed this issue. Found this from another user with same problem:

If you are trying to get your Belkin F5D8001 to work with
Windows 7 , you have to get the updated drivers from the chip set manufacturer.

Go to Atheros & Zidas drivers and download the
Windows 7 32/64bits driver (version 8.0.0.239). The one I used was at the bottom of the page. Unzip the package to a folder on your desktop, then open your device manager right click to update the driver for the network controller (should have the yellow warning flag next to it) Choose 'Browse my computer' then 'Let me Pick' then 'Have Disk', and then navigate to your unzipped folder. This will pull up a list, choose the Qualcomm manufacturer, then the Qualcomm Atheros AR5008X.

I did this and mine popped up and started working right away, you may need a reboot to make it go.

    Hope this helps.
