It's my week for computer mess-ups.
I'm missing my 'TAP-Win32 Adapter V9'. I recently, uninstalled a VPN client and it was removed with it.
I realise if I install another VPN, if will re-install. However, do I need it if I don't install another VPN?

TAP-Win32 appears to be a virtual tunnel adapter used by some VPN clients to access other LANs. If you're not using VPNs then you won't need it. In all honestly each VPN client uses its own secret sauce so I wouldn't worry too much over it and when installing a different one it'll probably make a different one for it to use rather than rely on this mystery tunnel adapter.

My Tap 32 drivers are back with a new VPN Service. I guess my original drivers must have disappeared when I removed my previous VPNs service.

That is the most logical guess :) I would rather that happen myself because there are some VPN clients that don't remove the tunnel driver and can cause all sorts of networking issues in the future!

Hi Josh,
I've just run into that problem with a new VPN service. Their VPN client programme didn't install OpenVPN and the secondary solution is riddled with v9 adapter and connection problems (Settings.xml).
This is my third VPN that I'm using in less than two months. Researched all of the major VPNs and picked out the top five companies. I'm not all impressed with any of them so far.
