    Can't find a network controller driver for my PC


    Okay so about 2 weeks ago I had to reinstall my windows professional x64 and was able to get every driver to work but my network controller i am able to connect threw LAN but WLAN will not work.

    I have already downloaded all the network drivers so far on there page and still nothing. i can't even seen to find the make model of the network controller. :/ its "unknown"

    Hi Westfall, You have tried all 7 wireless drivers and none have worked !!! Maybe the wlan card is dead

    yeah maybe... just odd that it dies when i go to reinstall but anything can happen thanks for trying to help me though. if you think of anything else let me know :)

    Go to device manager and locate the unknown device. Right click on it and go to properties. In the properties window, go to the details tab and in the dropdown menu, go down to hardware ID's and post the top value here so we can help you.

    I would think it would be the latest WiMAX driver at the top of the page on the Asus driver site.

    If the wireless NIC won't come up in Device Manager then you might try shutting the system down completely, unplug from the wall for a bit then boot up and maybe will come up.

    If Westfall hasn't visited the Windows Update site then that would be my first move after a clean install...probably hundreds of updates some of which should fix the driver problem. :)
