TP-Link TD-W8960N can't get it to work

I bought a TP-Link TD-W8960N and I can't get it to work, I already have a TP-Link TL-WR340GD router with a ZTE ZXDSL 831 modem installed.

The setup is basically the same for both routers, but after configuring the quick setup it sometimes hangs, sometimes I can't even connect to the router, and when I use the windows option to solve network problems it says the pc can't connect to the modem/router.

I have already tried the installation guide, and a couple of online config tutorials.
