TKIP is basically an outdated encryption that sometimes doesn't play well with the final wireless N draft.

You should try AES encryption in the routers settings then delete the old wireless profile and create a new one designating the new settings. For best possible wireless N speeds you should use the 802.11n Only settings rather than mixed.

Well my router is back from 2006/2007 and I cannot see the AES encryption from the security list only TKIP. I did remember the tech guy said back then about a whitelist system or something similar enable on my router so that even if someone knew my password their device won't be able to connect but I'm not sure if this is what causing my problem?

I would try updating the firmware for this router in that case.

The routers model number should be on the router someplace. If you can post the manufacture and model number I may be able to find firmware for it.
