Slow network connection at boot

    No idea how this setting in the router came about. But it was apparently checking for some updates every time I booted the system. And that took the 4 minutes or so. During that time this sytem, which is the main host for the system, could not access the internet although the internet connection existed.

    See the qoute in red. Why could other devices access the internet in that 4 minutes without problems?


    So your PC triggered the ROUTER to search for updates???

    Yeah, I guess because of that router setting.
