Wildly inconsistent wi-fi through my repeater

Using Win 7 64bit, BT Home Hub wi-fi, Huawei WS320 repeater

I wonder if anyone can help i’m getting some bizarre results with my internet from my repeater

I moved into a new flat with friends recently. Now our Router is in the living room as we have a BT Homehub for our TV. My room is the opposite end of the flat and as such is just out of range of the routers wi-fi. To solve the issue I got a Huawei WS320 repeater that is half way from my room to the hub.

A good feature about the router and repeater is they have WPS, so that you can just pair them up by synching them with one click. What I am getting however is a frustratingly inconsistent and unpredictable attempt at getting online. Four things tend to happen

*I turn on my PC and I get full or almost full connectivity bars but there is a yellow warning triangle stopping me from getting online. This triangle will either stay, or sometimes after about 20 mins it will go away and i’ll have internet on my PC

    * It will work! I turn on my PC and its connected, theres no triangle, I have a good connection and everything’s fine

*It will read there’s no connection and there will be an orange star over the connection. But when I check the connections my internet is there with several bars. I try to connect and it pops up saying a connection could not be established.

*It will be working fine and then it stops responding, my internet connection is displaying everything’s okay and I have a healthy amount of bars.....but there’s no internet.

Does anyone know why i’m getting strange results? It seems to have a mind of its own. Turning router off and on again sometimes fixes it but sometimes makes it worse. Disconnecting and reconnecting does not help either. There only seems to be one constant, that i'm getting a good quality signal from the router.

I did wonder if there’s some confusion being caused by the repeater so that the computer doesn’t really know what it should be connecting too. Please help!?

Any bluetooth devices around line of sight? Also can you disable WPS and input network specs manually, set a static IP for the repeater?
