Tell AT&T that your DSL connection is dropping out and ask them to test the line. Don't give them all the details about your browser but just play dumb and say the DSL service is dropping out.

I've been using it a fair amount now, and have far less problems. I'm thinking it must have been fixed by the Malwarebytes and those errors I found -- mostly related to an ad program on Programs x86. I haven't done all your suggestions, but I can get to those one by one, I appreciate the help.
