Need detailed example of how to use my SB5101 in compatibility mode

I have a Motorola SB5101 USB Cable Modem and I have gone through many of the threads and none of them seem to be helpful. I read about how to use it on windows 7 using compatibility mode due to the fact that its made to be used on xp and previous os. Could someone provide me with a detailed example of how to use it using compatibility mode or if there is another solution please tell me.

Hello Kingmazikeen, and welcome to Seven Forums.

If you have your computer connected to the modem using an Ethernet cable instead of USB, then you don't need drivers to use the modem, and then don't need to use drivers in compatibility mode.
