Can't connect to University VPN

It now works on a PC running XP. I disabled the firewall and it worked. Disabled Windows firewall on my laptop and it hasn't solved it.

It works! Disabled my antivirus (MS security essentials)

Unfortunately, I can't access any files on my linux account so its all been a bit pointless

I seem to remember asking you if you had any of that stuff installed.....
