Wake On LAN not working from shutdown state (ASUS P8z77-v LX)

I'm leaving on Christmas for vacation but I need access to my computer over rdp. Everything is good except WOL, which won't seem to work from a complete shutdown state. From sleep it works, but if I shut it off (hibernate wont work either) then no avail. I have configured the windows side well since it does work on sleep but I don't see any options regarding WOL in the UEFI control panel.
Also the Ethernet is integrated into the mobo.
If the computer is off, I also don't see the lights of the Ethernet ports. My thought is that the Ethernet controller shuts off, so is there a way in the ASUS P8Z77-v LX to configure it to work?

I found a toggle under Advanced BIOS in the Advanced tab > APM > Power on by PCI-E

Hi there I have a problem to with the P8Z77-V_PRO, i can get my pc to wake up from sleep or hibernate but what i can not get it to do is wake up from powerd off.

I would liek to be able to send a magic packet to the built in lan card oth the motherboard to wake it when the computers turned off.

I have turned botht he options on in the bios in the advance settings APM but nothing seems to be a ble to turn it on.

my older assus motherboard works no poeblem like that but this motherboard does nothing .

i have tried sending packets usign wifi or a command from my other cimputer but nothing. I f i load windows 7 and put the computer to sleep it wakes up no problem from lan or wifi but want to power it up from off which means theres no windows loaded or anything.

    can anyone help

    thanks

Your computer might be entering s5 mode when turned off. In the "onboard devices" check if there is a deep sleep (or deep shutdown maybe, I honestly don't remember but look around) it should be disabled. I'm the help window on the right it will specifically say that it will disable wol.

Then, I enabled "PXE" settings (onboard devices). What it does is enable booting off the network. It's useless for that, however it enables for the bios itself to assign an IP to the network card and, when your pc is off, the network Ethernet card will stay on searching a packet with the IP it has in windows.
Also it will not work with wifi, only wired LAN.
