Need help setting up Remote Desktop Connection

Ok I just upgraded to 7 64 & I have an iPhone

Some how the Remote Desktop Connection program popped up and I now want to set it up to work with my iPhone.

How do I get started & set it up securely?

And what iPhone app is the best for it?

I've heard good things about Jaadu RDP...

Yeah that Jaadu was the one I remember hearing good things about. I have no problem paying the price for that app.

But do I want to do the installation for Vista?

That link doesnt have a link for a Win 7 64 installation?

Ok so there seems to be two different Jaadu's

RDP
VNC

"When you login using RDP, the computer will log any existing users out and allow the RDPer access the system. VNC or Virtual Network Computer is the protocol that allows you to log in to a remote computer while another user is using the computer and control the screen while they use it..."

So which one do I want? I suppose if I'm going to be using a RDP to access something on my computer its because I'm not there and I am pretty much the only person every going to be using my computer...

So I guess RDP would work better for me?

Does RDP offer anything else over VNC? Does VNC stream audio also?

I just tried it on Xp, works. For Windows 7, i'd say follow the Vista instructions. Not sure about 32bit or 64 bit. Just give it a go.

VNC is not a native windows app. You need to download and install it (from memory). the other VNC like app is Radmin.

Btw, why do u want to RDP to your Pc on your iphone, it's not practical.

"iphone and remote desktop? Impossible.... Remote desktop will only work with windows operating systems... "

My thought at first, but i think of iphone and those 1mill apps they have and how i used to be actively download them...*cough*, and it's possible.

Apparently the RDP is based soley for windows where the VNC is based for other OS also, such as Linux or Mac

I need to do more research into the complete functions of both, but since I run Ubuntu I do like the fact that the VNC will access it if I need.

But will either one of them be able to turn restart the computer to log into the other OS? I suppose not huh?

While ur researching, research Radmin also. I find Radmin to be more Windows friendly.

Not sure what u mean by that.

Well the nice thing about the VNC is that it will work with Linux supposedly

Well my system is dual boot, I have Ubuntu & now Win 7 on 2 different patitions. In order to switch back & fouth you need to restart the computer.

But lately, especially since I've upgraded to Win 7, Ill be using Windows more often, so the computer will logged into my windows account not the ubuntu account in order to access.

But if I'm in windows & I need to get into Ubuntu for some reason, the computer needs to reboot.

So unless I am able to control the computer during a restart to get into Ubuntu, its almost pointless for me to have the ability since I wont really be able to use it with different OS.
