Choosing FTTC router
Looking at my spec's will show everything but my router, which is from my ISP (Plusnet, a cheaper subsidiary of BT -British Telecom.) It is a Technicolor TG582n and would be OK if it was Gigabit Lan, unfortunately it is 10/100. I have my desktop computer in another room, away from the router, connected by a 30M. Ethernet cable,(in the loft of my bungalow) networked with the laptop and a Zyxel 210 NAS which carries and streams all my photos, videos and data, plus backups. The desktop has a Freeview TV tuner and I would like to be able to stream video/recorded TV from this to other parts of the network, eventually to the lounge TV in the same room as the router.
The bottleneck is the current router and I would like to replace it, but am unsure of what to get. How does this look? - TinyURL.com - shorten that long URL into a tiny URL - bearing in mind that my line is a FTTC line. speeds as attached pic, not great but stable and I live in a rural location.
I like TP Link stuff, it seems to be a good mix of quality and value, my son has his house networked for 3 PC's via a TP router and a TP range extender.
Thanks for any replies.
