ERROR The requested URL could not be retrieved, internet problems.

I've come home to find my internet acting strange, I can connect to skype just fine, but whenever I load Google Chrome or any other browser I get this message upon loading a website, however google still works.

    ERROR

The requested URL could not be retrieved

While trying to retrieve the URL: (blablabla)

    The following error was encountered:

    • Connection to XX.XXX.XX.XXX Failed

    The system returned:
    (111) Connection refusedThe remote host or network may be down. Please try the request again.

A weird thing though is I can ping both ip and name address of the website I'm trying to connect to, and I can still access proxy websites which I am currently using now.

I've tried so many cmd solutions and nothing has worked. I'm really stuck.

    Any help is appreciated.

If you have a router, try power cycling both the modem and router. Unplug both for about 30 seconds to a minute; then plug the modem back in first and let it fully reboot; then plug the router back in and let it reboot fully. This should "reset" the connection for both and flush out any cache memory. Also, once done with that, go to a elevated command prompt and do a ipconfig /release and then a ipconfig /renew. Doing that will renew the "lease" of the ip addresses from the gateway.

EDIT: if that does not work; then its probably those servers you are trying to connect to that are possibly down. Does it happen at every address you enter or just certain ones?

Okay already having tried what you have said I decided to do it again, but this time something even stranger occurred

    C:\Users\User>ipconfig /release

    Windows IP Configuration

An error occurred while releasing interface Loopback Pseudo-Interface 1 : The sy
stem cannot find the file specified.

Wireless LAN adapter Wireless Network Connection:

    Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
    Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . :

After disconnecting and reconnecting it went back to normal but whenever I try and /release it does the same thing.

EDIT: It is every web address I try to connect to, and I can still successfully ping both ip and name of that address.

Okay, I managed to sort that problem, however after doing the steps you told me, the same problem is occurring.

Also, I am currently only using MSE, and Malwarebytes.

Have you run any virus scan's lately?

Try unzipping then run the file below which will reset the network stack and flush the DNS cache then it will reboot your machine.

    Yes, nothing had shown up.
I'm really stumbled because I had not done a thing, and I turn my laptop on to have this problem.

Hi, I've tried the attachment you gave me and sadly the same thing is happening. ):

EDIT: I've also discovered whenever I forgot the network and rejoin, for the first few seconds there is a yellow triangle on the wifi bar on the task bar, then goes back to normal.

Oh, and weirdly I discovered that I can access most websites if I put the https:// beforehand.
    What is causing this?

I'm not sure which browser you are using but it sounds like it may be messed up.

Have you tried resetting the browser? In IE10 or IE11, you can go upper right to Tools, then click on Internet Options, Open the Advanced tab, hit the Reset button and reboot the machine and see if anything changes.
