Unable to set up a homegroup
I have Windows 7 Home Premium on both my computers (desktop and laptop which is connected via wireless modem/router).
Last week I did a clean install of full retail versions of Win 7 on them both.
I had been trying to set up my printer on a home network without success so now I am trying to set up a homegroup to allow the laptop access to the printer but again I am having no success.
I've followed the procedure as laid out but it's as if my laptop cannot see my dektop. As a Homegroup is set up by default when installing Windows 7 I have left my desktop as having created the homegroup. On the laptop I 'left' the homegroup so that it would be ready to join a Homegroup but when I get to the relevant page to join that option is not there, just the option to create a homegroup. I beleive that on this page it should show an available Homegroup to join but it doesn't. This is why I think my desktop is not being seen.
I've gone through the troubleshooters to no avail. I've also disabled firewalls on both computers and my modem/router.
I would appreciate some help.
