Win7 won't connect to internet over "secondary" network adapter
Hi. I used to connect to the internet with cable broadband service going from the cable modem to my Asus RT-N15 router and then by wire to my desktop computer. This Asus network includes my NAS and wireless printer. Then I cancelled my cable internet and returned the modem. Now I am connecting to the internet through a cell-based wireless hot-spot. So I added a USB wifi dongle to my desktop and can connect fine to the hot-spot and the system tray says there is internet on the wifi but the browser stills tries to connect through the wired network (which has no internet access) and goes to the error page of the Asus router. There are no proxy settings in the browser or anything else I can see that would force this behavior. In order to get internet through the hot-spot I have to disable the wired adapter. Tried rebooting and looking around for something that might be forcing this but I am not so knowledgeable in this area. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
