If someone is spoofing your address at the office, you need to resolve that with your IT department. Changing the IP address won't prevent someone from messing around, if that's the case.

I'm going to guess that spoofing isn't really what is happening, but I don't know the situation. It might be error msgs about IP address conflicts.

Post a screen shot of what happens - why you think it's spoofing. Again, if it is spoofing, talk to your IT person or network admin. Spoofing is not something that should take place in a work environment.

Thanks
Spoofing , re routing websites, turning the images upside down blurring the images etc.. Things like that.
This type of behavior would indicate that the system has been compromised by a virus or malware.

Performing a system scan using a good anti virus solution like malware bytes or Windows Defender, etc. would be a good course of action in this case.

Using a static IP here won't change a thing.

Set your IP config to "Obtain automatically" for the IP address and DNS servers

connect and post an ipconfig - all
Thanks Bart. Yes I can set it automatically. ipconfig and etc thru elevated CMD. The thing is I want to have my own Ipv4 address. If I set it to other 192.168.1.36 is the default. I want it to be 192.168.1.xx ,my choice of number. If I did try to change that other than .36 I cannot get an internet connection but Im connected to the router.

I'm in with Chev65, your problem is not network related. Use whatever IP configuration will get you on the net and download this scanner and run it.

Let's see what the ipconfig shows.

You answered
"Spoofing , re routing websites, turning the images upside down blurring the images etc.. Things like that. "
to my question "what makes you think...spoofing"

We can discuss that once we get out of this circle.

edit: I type too slow, everyone seems to be headed in the same direction re: why change the IP address in the 1st place

I'm guessing that the default was changed to 1.xx
Assuming that the first screenshot in the OP is while using DHCP.

Yes someone must have changed from the default for a Buffalo router, although the OP's original static IP was still in the wrong subnet either way.

The deal is that the use of a static IP or not has NOTHING to do with the Op's problem anyway, that was just an uninformed guess on the Op's part. Browser redirection is the actual problem which has nothing to do with using a static IP or not.

It's no doubt a malware or virus that is redirecting the browser, I mean it's so obvious.

Agreed that a static IP is not going to change the browsing behavior. The OP has opted not to listen to that advice. Let the OP find that out the hard way.

I'm surprised that so many members are helping to change a work related computer.

Also, some routers will not accept a connection if the IP is out of the DHCP range.
