You have 2 network connections, and one of them is not connected. ( Network 3 )

If you disable that network adapter in Device Manager that connection will be gone and so will the red x

The red X typically refers to the connection that you are currently using and indicates the connection or driver has a problem.

I believe that in this case to fix the problem with the red X you need to uninstall the "currently connected" Ethernet driver then reinstall it via Device Manager, it may require a reboot after that, this usually will resolve the red X showing despite being connected problem.

I've seen this same problem a few times in the past and reinstalling the driver worked to fix it.

It would be nice if the Op can report back in, I'm sure we'd all like to know if reinstalling the driver fixed the problem or not?

Try clicking on the arrow to show all items and see it there is any other network icons. If there is, it is because there are multiple adapters like AddRAM said.
