Allow or Deny access to user groups.

I have got into a bit of a pickle. I am setting up a lappy for a local charity. We have four users. 1. Admin and three standard users, Chairman, Treasurer and Secretary. I want to allow full access to some programs, folders and files for say two of the standard users and deny access to the third. Different programs will have different users having access. I have created one user Group and added two of the users but the third user still has access. If i deny access to that user it denies access to the other two. I have gone wrong somewhere. Is anyone prepared to help me out of this pickle please?
P.S. IThe lappy has Win 7 Professional installed so can handle "User Groups"!

I did create a group that contains standard1 and standard2, but that was not needed just yet. If all that you want to do is deny one user, then add that user to the app folder of interest and select deny. Also have it propagate to everything below that folder level.

But my users do not appear in the Computer management list! Only one user is named there!

Is this in a domain setting?

Do apologise for delay in responding. Have now solved the problem by just adding the users to the list where necessary. All fixed now, thanks.
Wasn't sure what you meant by

You mentioned, "But my users do not appear in the Computer management list!". The only way that I know how this could happen is for the computer to be a member of a domain - thus, some or all user accounts are on the domain controller and will not be listed in the Computer Management list.

Glad that you got it sorted.
