wifi ssid not shown in list of availalbe networks

    hi
    i have strange issue..

one specific wifi ssid is not shown/visible in the list of available networks in windows 7.

i have tried manually creating a profile for this netowrk . which is boadcasiting its ssid. and it is 802.1x based authentication. earlier i was able to use the same network. but its not shown in the available networks.

tried rebooting system. no luck .
tried disabling and enabling wifi adapter no luck
tried manually creating a wifi profile and selecting the option to connect to this network eve if its nto broadcasting .. but no luck .. (deleted earlier prfole restarted . checked list of available networks not shown .. created a wifi profile still not shown.)
tried the winsock reset .. no luck

again this laptop was able to see this ssid earlier.. but not noww.

other laptops and mobile phones can see this ssid. also this laptop can see other ssids but not this particular one. it is well with in the range of ap. AP is enterprise class cisco ap.

any idea how to solve it ?

    Hi there,

I wonder if they have found out your Mac or IP Address and put a restriction.

    No its not the case.

I have bonded the ip on dhcp. And this is official laptop no such restrictions are in place.

Also i used wifi analyzes from nirsoft and that ssid is not seen by that application as well.

Is this a public Hotspot? Is it the Wi-Fi network encrypted?

It won't hurt to do a System Restore, choose a restore point when you were able to see this SSID and you're trying to connect.

I'd consult your IT Department. Have you talked to them?

It is our corporate corporate wifi not public.

We have our offices at multiple locations.
At this location this is first time that I will be connecting it.

We have same ssid at all locations. Same 802.1x authentication is used and these are authenticated from same server.

I am at level 1 support.

The laptop model is hp Probook 450. Other laptops with same hardware and software specs have no issue.

Wifi analyser softwares are unable to detect that ssid from this problematic system

Have you checked for any firewall (hardware or software) restrictions?

But o am not able to see the wifi ssid which all other devices are able to see..

How could it be related to firewall? The only firewall on that machine is windows firewall. Does it hides an ssid from appearing in the Available networks?

Again, not unless that computer has its Mac Address blocked or put on a restriction and not able to find the SSID.
