    Loopback IP address

    Hello,
I'm new to windows networking and wanted to know if this was possible. I have a laptop with both a wireless and wired connection. I would like use a loopback address so that even if my wired or wireless connection drops other hosts on the network would be able to reach me. I understand that if I lose both my connections that I wouldn't have connectivity but I would like a persistent IP address that would be reachable by either interface.

    Thank you,
    Rkwon

Also to add, if possible I would like the IP address to be in the same subnet as my interfaces.

The loopback address is an address that always refers to the local computer and is useful for testing purposes. It cannot be used for any kind of networking with other computers. Any computer accessing the loopback address will always access itself.

Normally you would access other computers by name so knowledge of their IP address is unnecessary.
