Win& system says Media Player 11 is "the latest version" but....

I have Win 7 on my system, and I run WMP12, and I can share and watch content on my HDTV wirelessly no problem. My friend asked me to set up his system to to the same, but his Win 7 system has WMP11, and won't let me upgrade to WMP12. It just says it has the latest version. And I can't see how to activate streaming, because there is NO "Streaming" in the menu bar like there is on my WMP 12. Is there a way to get WMP 12 on my friend's PC?

If they have windows 7, they have windows media player 12. It comes built into windows 7, so it is not possible for it to be windows media player 11.

Do they have a genuine version of windows?

Sorry, but it is definitely WMP 11, and yes, the have a legitimate copy of WIN 7. Their PC came with WIN 7 installed. I believe they bought it from Dell. I also had WMP 11 when I got my PC from HP with WIN 7 already installed, but I was able to upgrade to WMP 12.

Can you post a screenshot of the about-windows media player?

Windows 7 ships with windows media player 12, not 11. So something is wrong here...
