If you have a facebook account you could add me as friend and we could go through this in the chat feature... would be easier in real time :)

If you want to make a dedicated folder for the purpose of sharing right click on the desktop and select New>Folder and then it to share this folder and then add Everyone to its permissions if its not already there. It should now show up in the network places under the computer name that it is on.

Also I just to clarify so I can help better... which computer specifically do you want to access? do you want to send and retrieve from 7 to XP(meaning sit at your 7 machine and send files to the XP) or XP to 7
Hey sorry I've been out of town for the last few days.

So do I make this folder on the 7 machine, or the XP? Once I make it on one machine, how do I get it to show up on the desktop of the other machine?

I've made a folder on the Win 7 machines desktop, but when I go under the sharing folder it says Not Shared and the Share button is ghosted out?

I would like the Win 7 computer to be able to put files on & take them off the XP computer, I do not want the XP computer to be able to access the Win 7 computer other wise in case of viruses.

Ok so I was able to set up the folder on the desktop of my Win 7 computer to shared.

Now how do I find/get it on the desktop of the XP computer so we can begin to move files back & forth?

Do I need to create username & passwords for both computer to access this folder? If so, where?
