I'm using a Belkin F6D3000(Atheros Chipset) (g/a/b) wireless adapter that is able to get 108mbs on XP Pro(with and without the "controlling" software). The Problem is, on the 7000 x64 Beta, it will only connect at 54mbs, even with the newest Atheros drivers. Is there some way to fix this, or does 7000 just have problems with super G?
Because it's surely only using one standard instead of using both a and g standards to achieve 108 Mbps under windows 7 (and under vista?). 802.11g (2.4Ghz -54Mbps) + 802.11a (5Ghz - 54Mbps) = 108Mbps
Your adapter is also marked as unsupported for vista by Belklin -> Belkin : Support : Vista
Yet, they give instruction to install drivers on Vista -> Belkin : Support : Vista Installation Instructions and Atheros has Vista 32bits and x64 drivers for the chipset your card is using.

Yep, I've been aware of it being unsupported, just trying to see if anyone know of a workaround with Atheros based cards.
Also, dual band cards like this one don't work like your suggested formula, it can (and does) do 108Mbs on both bands. You can't connect to the signals simultaneously, it's either connect to the 802.11g @ 108Mbs or the 802.11a @ 108Mbs. I know this because I've the had matching dual band belkin router as well as a ZyXEL X-550 (current router) which only sends out an 802.11g signal
yes, my bad, it's coupling two G or A channels and uses some proprietary tech to achieve 108Mbps. I thought it was it first, then reading the manual of your card got me a little confused.
Workaround? You're surely not going to like mine and I hope for you somebody comes up with a better one.
Seeing the number of 108mbps adapters officially supported by vista and I cannot tell for sure if the supported ones reach 108Mbps as I never used one under vista, but I suppose they do. You're surely better off selling everything and going for a a pre-n draft router and wifi card, rather than looking around for drivers; unless Atheros, I'm not even bothering mentioning Belkin since they don't even officially support Vista, comes up with a compatible driver for your card that works with Windows 7 which let you use the full potential of your card by the time it's released.
The only officially supported adapters seems use a newer version of the Atheros wifi chip, though I only checked two.
