All Internet other than Skype stops working randomly

I am on a wired connection on windows 7

So basically all of my computers Internet, except for Skype, will drop for about 5 minutes. Then it will come back and any where from 5 to 45 minutes later it will drop.. Sooo I have no idea what's wrong.

The little Internet connection symbol in the bottom right corner of my screen says the Internet is working but steam can't connect and neither can Opera or Internet Explorer.

I tried pinging to Google from CMD and every reply timed out and I got 100% packet loss, but I didn't think to save a .txt of it. Once it came back up I pinged again and got 4 MS response time and 0% packet loss..

I don't believe it's an ISP problem because there are other computers in this house and none of them have this problem. Also I don't think that Skype is the problem because it has happened when Skype wasn't open.
I don't have any viruses or infections as far as I know- I've ran multiple tools with all of them coming up with clean results.

    The tools were:
    Malwarebytes
    Avast!
    Spybot Search and Destroy

My DNS was set to 'Obtain Automatically' so I tried changing my DNS to google (8.8.8.8 / 8.8.4.4) but the problem has remained the same as I've lost connection twice for multiple minutes in the past hour.

If there is a different section for these kinds of questions I am sorry as I couldn't seem to find a section for my problem.

But does anyone have any bright ideas?

HI contraplex, welcome to eightforums :) A few questions.
How old is your current install?
Is your installation current with all the windows updates?

Let me know and we'll go from there

    Hi,

    Welcome to Seven Forums.

Have you tried the basics like replacing the Ethernet cable, plugging the cable into a different port on your modem/router/switch and reinstalling your NIC drivers?
