    No wireless connections available.

    Hello,

I am working on a friends laptop. It is a Toshiba Satellite C655-S5049 P/N PSC08U-02D01D.
It is running Windows 7 home premium 64bit SP1.

Currently I am unable to connect to a wireless network and the network icon in the tray displays a red x over the wireless icon. When I open the icon it indicates that there is no connections available. It does not display any IP addressing or DNS. I was able to use a wired connection to access the internet but cannot use the wireless.

    I have done the following:
Checked for the wireless switch to be on.
Performed antivirus scans using Malwarebytes and Webroot.
Performed a system reset by removing the power adapter plug and battery and then holding the power button for 30 seconds and then installing the battery and power adapter.
I checked Device Manager for the wireless adapter and it is showing to be working so I rolled back the driver, which did nothing, and then I updated the driver. I have disabled the wireless adapter and enabled the adapter. Still not working.

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    B

All physical checks done, all software checks done.

Just to be double sure, have you tried with a hotspot from your smartphone?
What driver is the laptop using? Have you check the bit version of the laptop and the one you downloaded?(32/64 bit)

Thanks for responding. I was able to repair the wireless connection by booting into safe mode with networking and the wireless connection carried over into a normal boot. It He's at school been working since with no issues. Again thanks for everyone's input.
