    Can I connect a Win7 Laptop to a Win7 Desktop?

I was going to try to make youtube and twitch videos but my laptop and desktop are two slow for both games and recording software at once. I was wondering if it was possible via some cable that I could connect the desktop's computer to my laptop as like a second hard drive WITHOUT taking anything apart?

I have an HP 635 and a HP Compaq 6005 Pro Form Factor.

    Thank you

Are they connected to the same router? Do both of them get internet access?

If so, you probably already are able to connect them though LAN.

It can save a lot of time if the pertinent info is posted with the question. Some or all of the info suggested in this post may be relevant:

A crossover cable can be had for a couple of dollars from an online discount house. The trick is to get a reliable seller with low shipping rates. If you otherwise don't have or need a router, switch or hub then the cable is the cheapest way to go.

You're welcome. It never hurts to have a crossover cable in reserve. :)
