Well, I got my LAN working.

I passed a tiny computer shop in a village near me and popped in to ask about bringing my pc in. The lady in there asked the problem and then explained she had experienced this and suggesting installing the Vista drivers saying microsoft didn't write new drivers for the LAN for Win 7. Install Vista drivers and then Win 7 on top.

I did and it all started to work.

    GREAT!

However, I then had a problem powering up my pc. I did manage it after quite a few tries and didn't think about it again. I had a few days off and am now trying to power on my pc and it is dead as a dodo again.

Could this be anything to do with changing any of the settings suggested in the links provided in this thread? Especially the WOL settings?

I've changed my power cable and used a different socket and still no power.

    Thanks,
