Unidentified N/w WinXP / Win 7
I am using a broadband dial-up connection (without a router).
My problem started when I installed Windows 7.
Previously I used to get very high downloading speeds on Windows XP.(Both LAN and dial-up were working)
Now, Lan shows Unidentified network/No internet access but dial-up works.
The result is slow downloading speeds.
The problem is that I was experiencing this problem only with Windows 7 and I re-installed Windows XP because my isp said my connection won't work on Windows 7.
But now I am facing the same problem with Windows XP. LAN shows Unidentified n/w, but I can connect to the internet via dialup.
I even tried the connection on my sis's Windows XP machine. But no luck.
Is the problem with realtek's onboard NICs? I am asking because both mine and my sis's machines have realtek's NICs onboard.
Do I need to get a dedicated Ethernet card? If yes, which one should I get? Is D-Link good?
Please reply fast. I have some project work pending.
and I want to use windows 7
