Unable to browse internet by any means

Hello, I am having an issue with a computer that otherwise works fine. I am unable to browse any website via domain name or IP address, with any web browser. Things I have tried include:

Problem: Cannot connect to internet with any web browser

    Notes:
    - PING works, internet connectivity with other applications work
    - ALL web browsers affected (even portable variants)
    - Direct IP and web address does not work (HTTP)
    - Seems to be a DNS issue (?: ping uses DNS and succeeds)
    - Linux connectivity works (is NOT a hardware issue)
    - Affects all network connections (wireless or ethernet, tested different wifi connections)

    Process:
    - Network Diagnostics: [NOT RESOLVED] [Inconclusive]
    - Reset browser settings: [NOT RESOLVED]
    - Driver reinstallation: [NOT RESOLVED]
    - svc /scannow: [NOT RESOLVED] [No issues detected]
    - Safe Mode usage: [NOT RESOLVED] [Issue persists]
    - svchost.exe replacement: [NOT RESOLVED]
    - All firewalls turned off: [NOT RESOLVED] [AVG also off, all 3 Domain, Private, and Public windows variants off as well]
    - Group Policy reset: [NOT RESOLVED]
    - New user created: [NOT RESOLVED]
    - MalwareBytes Scan: [NOT RESOLVED] [No related issues detected] [Safe Mode also inconclusive]
    - HOSTS File: [NOT RESOLVED]

    Machine Specs:
    Windows 7 Home Premium (x64)

Any help wpuld be most greatful!

    Thanks,
    Jake

What about other machines on the same network? It could be a network based firewall preventing access...

    Thanks for the reply,

Other machines on the same network work fine. I have narrowed down the problem to that specific laptop on that specific operating sytem install. Network activity such as LAN, function properply. Packets are shown to be sent and received in the adapter's status.

    Hello all,

I was able to resolve the issue with the use of this tool: "Complete Internet Repair 2". Not sure what it did quite yet, but it resolved the issue

I recommend the tool to anyone with a similar issue, and I'll attach the log it created for those interested at what it may have done to resolve the problem. I checked all boxes when using the tool.

    UPDATE:

It seems that the option "Flush DNS Resolver Cache" took care of the culprit, as looking through events in the Event Viewer showed that internet connectivity warning were related to DNS misconfigurations e.g.:
"Name resolution for the name setup.sendori.com timed out after none of the configured DNS servers responded."

If anyone has any knowledge of how to do this manually without a tool for future reference, please let me know.

I attached an image of the program for reference.
