    Red X on network icon and an extra connection "unidentified network"


    i am seeing a red x on my network icon and there i also another connection thats unidentified. i am only connected to wifi which is working. i have internet access.

    Agreed, no problem seen. However, if you never use the Ethernet connection you can Disable the adapter in Device Manager or click the little arrow on the left end of the Notification Area and Customize to 'Hide icon and notifications'.

    Sometimes manufacturers will include other software that controls your wireless settings. If you have a program like that installed, that will take over the windows control and will show what you are seeing.
