I have disabled ipv6 and it has not helped my problem.
And yes my wireless network is not showing up on the list.
Where you have 3 wireless network connections available. I have 0.
It says no wireless connections are available. I don't think it is the router because i can still play my xbox online no problem in the same room and it was working fine with vista. Thanks for the help

With Windows 7 wireless connection is detection is automatic, provided your router is set to broadcast your network. If you think it's not your router, than it could be an issue with your wireless adapter, are there any exclaimation marks in Device Manager, and while you're in there, have a look at your Eventlog. Any errors?

in the event log there is an error that seemed to occur every time i restarted the computer.

Source: DHCP-Client
Event ID: 1001
Task Category: Address Configuration State Event

Your computer was not assigned an address from the network (by the DHCP server) for the network card with network address 0X001A92091891. The following error occured: 0X79. Your computer will continue to try and obtain an address on it's own from the network address (DHCP) server.

In device manager there was only exclamation marks in the other devices section with a yellow triangle surrounding it.
It was for Audio Controller, Network Controller, Unknown device X2.

Also, can you type msconfig into command promt (Windows key+R then type CMD>run)
and fill in your system specs, audio etc so we can work out what drivers you need.

I believe the network adapter is the Realtek PCIe GBIe Family Controller. Before i downloaded the Windows 7 driver it was called Realtek 8110 i believe but changed when i downloaded the driver. Do you think replacing the network adapter would solve my problem?
