How to Share a drive/folder on a domain

I have a drive on a Windows 7 workstation that I want to share with others on the domain. I am not sure how to do that even though I went to the Properties of the drive in question and set it to be Shared. On another computer on the Domain the error is to the effect that permissions were not given for access to the Windows 7 workstation.

    Suggestions welcomed...

All you should need to do is share the folder and set appropriate permissions. Remember that there are 2 sets of permissions, that of the share and the NTFS permissions of the folder itself. The effective permissions will be the most restrictive of the two. Usually permissions would be assigned to a group, not an individual account.
