Internet only on my pc drops randomly

Hi,

Randomly when I'm browsing the internet, my internet goes. Maybe I'm just lucky that it doesn't cut out during an online game.

To get my internet back I just unplug the internet cable at the back of my pc and wait a few seconds and plug it back in again, comes back almost instantly.

I can't ping the router when my internet goes, I check my phone and and can still get internet, no one else complains of it.

I use a TP Powerline adapter. I can not test if that is at fault, no wifi and not too close to the router hence why I use the powerline.

Around the time of internet loss, in the event manager I get messages like these:

Browser: The browser has forced an election on network \Device\NetBT_Tcpip_{F468282B-2F3E-4F03-B32D-7AD58EFD21FA} because a master browser was stopped.

DNS CLIENTS EVENTS: Name resolution for the name dns.msftncsi.com timed out after none of the configured DNS servers responded.

Service Control Manager: The TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper service was successfully sent a stop control.

The reason specified was: 0x40030011 [Operating System: Network Connectivity (Planned)]

Comment: None

Here are times and dates of when I have noticed it.

I am not an expert on this but it looks like the default DNS assignments may be causing the issue.

Have yo hard-set your DNS assignments?

Right click the Network icon on the lower right corner of the screen and left click "Network and sharing."
Click "change adapter settings"
Right click on your network adapter
Select "Properties"
Scroll down to and double-click the "Internet version 4..."
In the dialog at the bottom is shows "Use the following DNS..."
Click "Use the following..."
and set them to point to OpenDNS servers
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220

You may need to first click "Use the following...IP address" if they grayed out, but you can leave the IP addresses blank.

Click "OK", a few times and see if that helps.

Thanks, I shall try that dns server.

I have been using google's 8.8.8.8 8.8.4.4 and friend with the same dns said he has been fine, so it is very strange but I will change it and see if it goes down again.
