I have done the registry entry, deleted the corrupt file, rebooted, tried to start it etc and still it isn't working. :| It's like my registry/services are messed up but I've done sfc /scannow and other means of trying to repair it yet...scans return nothing wrong?

I have done as instructed in Error 1079 article, still nothing.

I have successfully been able to start the 3 services, thank you. However, my Ethernet controller still isn't installing/being recognized. There is a device in "Device Manager" that says "Unknown device" but when I try to update it, it says "Windows was unable to install a driver for this device". I'm not sure what else to do as far as fixing my onboard Ethernet LAN Controller.

Hardware IDs:
Code:
NUSB3\ROOT_HUB30&VID_1033&PID_0194&REV_0003&SID_84131043
NUSB3\ROOT_HUB30&VID_1033&PID_0194&REV_0003
NUSB3\ROOT_HUB30&VID_1033&PID_0194
I have just reinstalled the Marvell Gigabit LAN driver, cleaned registry with CCleaner, rebooted...it's still not recognizing it. Windows Update can't find anything either. (Typical)

That device is something else though

It is the NEC Electronics Corporation USB3.0 Controller Driver ...

In the Link below ...

Motherboard - CROSSHAIR IV FORMULA - ASUS

It is very much looking like your Lan Port is faulty ...

It can't be... surely it can't just randomly fault just like that as it was working perfectly fine a couple days ago before my display driver recovered from a malfunction.. I've also tried installing a PCI LAN adapter into my system and using that for Ethernet, but it too just isn't working as far as LAN goes. Even with it's correct up-to-date drivers.

The same PCI slot I tried a LAN adapter in works fine as my NETGEAR WN311 Wireless PCI adapter works fine in that same slot. I just can't use Wireless instead of LAN because the dreadful Wireless speed is driving me crazy.

The screenshot of the LAN device is from msinfo32.
