Connected to Internet, Pages won't load Hi, just did a clean Windows 7 install on my Thinkpad.
I was able to connect to my wireless network no problem, however (in both firefox and IE), no webpages will load, except:
Google
Youtube
FF homescreen
my college's outlook server page
otherwise nothing will load, nor will any search links I get in google. I've tried playing with the firewall, as well as checking all the browser and internet options, to no avail.
Please help!! -Thanks, Alex | My System Specs |

ihopmsm45, welcome to the forums
I suppose you don't go through your college's proxy server, do you? If so have you checked with their IT support if you need any special configuration? | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Wally, Innc. OS Windows 7 x64 finally! No, I'm not at the college anymore, but I still use that .edu email account occasionally. I am connected to a secured wireless network at my home. Would I need a special configuration for this network? | My System Specs | | |

Tks Alex
I don't think so, you would need to access the internet (your password etc) but once you are connected that should be transparent. I asked because of the sites you are getting, it doesn't make sense to me that only those few are possible ot access when you are at a regular internet connection.
Can you connect to your router via cable and check if it is the same?
Have you tried pinging a known address such as msn.com or yahoo.com (just type "ping msn.com" in a command prompt, it should show you it is trying to ping their IP address) | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Wally, Innc. okay, I pinged about four different websites, and some came back with responses (0% fail rate) and others came back "request timed out" (100% fail rate). Now what? haha
** also, just connected to the router via ethernet cable, internet fully functional.

Tks Alex, that points to some problem with the set up, maybe the browser, although you tried two already, maybe the router.
Have you disabled the firewall and tried (you said you played with it, best is to disable and try). Also, how is your router configured, do you have a firewall enabled there? Have you tried power cycling the router (on and off, or reboot it)? What router do you have? | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Wally, Innc. OS Windows 7 x64 finally!
