SCSI to TV internet connection stops

Hi
I have a Dell Latitude E6400, I am using Windows 7 with either a chrome based browser of Firefox (I get the same problem on both browsers). I am using a VGA lead to connect to my TV which was working fine until recently, if I try to stream from the internet with the VGA cable attached, the internet connection stops. When I remove the VGA the connection returns.
Has anyone have an idea why this is happening?
Hopefully a simple answer as I am not particularly computer savvy!
Many thanks

Think you got your connectors mixed up a bit. I take it your connecting the laptops VGA or Display Port to the VGA or HDMI port on the TV? Can you describe what the port your referring to as SCSI?

Its a rather odd problem. As a starting point the laptop is a bit old are the Dell drivers up to date?
You can run the System Analysis tool from Dells website to check. Product Support | Dell UK

All my drivers are up to date. I still have the same problem. Seems strange that it was working fine a couple of days ago and now it isn't. I have checked for malware or viruses and there are none.

Was there a windows update around the time this started? If so, try uninstalling the updates one at a time and test or do a System Restore to before this started happening and test.

Did you do anything around that time?
Add or remove a program.
Update a driver?

I have done a system restore to a date before the problem started. It didn't make any difference. I tried to stream again without the VGA cable inserted and it was fine on my laptop but as soon as I plugged the VGA cable in again the stream started lagging and although I waited 5 minutes to see if the stream would start, it didn't.

Any other changes made to your network?

Is this a wireless connection or wired? If wireless, try wired via Ethernet cable, see what happens.

I hadn't made any changes to my network as far as I know. I was using a wireless connection, so I disabled the wireless connection and plugged the ethernet cable in. Unfortunately the lagging happened again when I plugged my VGA cable in. When the VGA cable is unplugged all websites stream perfectly.

Some things to try.

1. Boot to Safe Mode with Networking and try it there. If that works then something is running during a normal boot that is causing the problem.

2. Roll back your video driver via Device Manager. Right click on your display adapter and select Properties. Click on the Driver tab then Roll back driver.

3. Try Internet Explorer.

4. Try all browsers with Add-ons disabled.
