You could use "sneaker net" like we did back in the DOS days. Copy files to a USB thumb drive (we used floppy disks) and transfer them to whatever other systems you wish.
However, since you say internet is working you could use something like DropBox to share files among a number of computers.
Dose anyone know what kind of setup Dlinks shareport uses? It works fine 0-o Tho if I use that I lose my 32GB flash drive since I will need it in the router all the time.....
What I did was get a WDC NAS/Network Attached Storage of 1TB, hooked it to the Router and all my computers can access the files on it, WinVista, Win7, Win8.1, Win10TP, Mac OS X and Linux Mint both Wired to the Router and Wireless. Same for my inkjet and laserjet printers plugged into the Router. Wireless Router has 4 Ethernet ports [Gigabit] and I added an 8-port Gigabit Switch. The Router also has the USB port but I haven't needed it yet, previous Router when I got the NAS didn't have USB.
I do not mean to bump this thread, but I figured out what my trouble was, Kaspersky firewall was blocking a bunch of stuff.
Personally, I think it is quite appropriate. After all, it's only been a few months and any solution is worth knowing about.I do not mean to bump this thread
I try to be aware of the rules and wary of breaking them since mods have enough crap to deal with, but yes this was a strange case, I never really had issues with kas before but over the last 2 years I been using networking more and more and uhg I have kas on everything. ><
I think I managed to turn off enough stuff to get networking to work but I think kas needs to handle home networking better. I am testing out Avast premier and its pretty neat GUI is no worse than kas, firewall is easy enough to configure I do wish tho if I set it on auto block mode that it blocks all new out going connections and alert me...it dose it haphazardly allowing some things through...sheesh.... how is that different than auto decide 0_o LOL
